I believe that everyone in life should have a reason bigger than themselves for doing what they do. This probably comes from my Christian background and being raised that way. I call this “My Big Why.” My Big Why used to be my family (and in a sense it always will be). The problem with my family being My Big Why in business though is that when I thought of them it only wanted to make me go home early, which is the exact opposite of what you want your Big Why to do. But then my wife and I were invited to a dinner that forever changed our sheltered little world.
So since the spring of 2012, when we first learned about the prevalence of human trafficking as it pertains to children, we have been actively supporting a local charity called Life for the Innocent (LFTI). This is a Christian base charity out of Fort Collins. Life for the Innocent exists to rescue, restore and renew those affected by human trafficking. They provide opportunities for innocent children affected by human trafficking to experience new life. Two interventions help them accomplish our goal: reaching children before they are trafficked, and caring for children after they have been trafficked. These interventions take place globally and domestically. Internationally, they identify and rescue children at risk, care for those psychologically and physically harmed, and place them in loving Christian homes where they can grow and develop. Domestically, they provide education and opportunities for action to prevent and combat trafficking in the USA. My family donates a percentage of all of our business income to this charity every month and I would love for you to be part of that. If you want to learn more about LFTI please visit www.lifefortheinnocent.org or give me a call, I would be more than happy to speak to you about it.
Proverbs 24: 11-12
Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?
What we’re doing about it…
The 1 Home 1 Child Initiative
Life for the Innocent is an organization dedicated to rescuing, restoring and renewing those affected by human trafficking in Southeast Asia.
For every home we help buy or sell this year we will donate the necessary funds to care for a child after being rescued out of their current situation, give them the necessary medical and psychological care that they need, and help them get adopted into a forever family in their native county. We are calling it the 1 home, 1 child campaign.
We have seen firsthand the amazing work this organization has done and would love your help in saving as many kids as possible. Please, if you hear of anyone buying or selling a home this year or getting involved in an investment property, please call me at 970-690-4646. If you want to learn more about Life for the Innocent or to donate directly, please visit www.lifefortheinnocent.org.
